You're My BFF!

I still can't believe that acronym is a part of our normal language but alas change is a good thing :) It's funny though because I really get on my children for using "slang" because I honestly believe that it pure laziness. Well here I am loving this new stamp set called Best Friends Forever! It has some amazing images on it on it and I do believe the BFF fits in so well. Credit must be given to my upline Michelle Nicholson for the design of the card!

Who can wait for Poinsettia's? Not me :)

First let me start off by saying I am sorry for being MIA! It has been quite a week; I had my sweet daughter come home for a visit from college (the first since she left). My little brother (who is taller than me) & his wonderful family stopped by, and then I hurt myself! My left knee is swollen and I am unable to run, bike, workout, etc. I am kind of bummed on that front but the doctor will have my MRI results today so I am hangin tough.

I am back in creative mode just in time for some fun holiday goodness :) Today's card comes from a great set called Pines & Poinsettia's. It was the free stamp we earned in August for recruiting! So yes my new recruit & I both have this set and this wonderful card displays it so well! I have to give credit to a wonderful demonstrator in my uplines group for this card! I wish she had a blog so I could link to her. So for now a thanks goes out to her!

 Card Instructions
  1. Fold the Soft Suede Card Stock (41/4 x 11") in half with the fold at the side
  2. Emboss Very Vanilla Card Stock (4" x 51/4") with the Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder using the Big Shot. Adhere to the card from.
  3. Stamp "Christmas" image with Cherry Cobbler ink towards the bottom right of the Very Vanilla Card Stock (3" x 3 3/4").
  4. Stamp the Poinsettia" image with Cherry Cobbler ink in the center above the Christmas banner.
Pearl Technique:
  1. Pour a small drop of Frost White Shimmer Paint onto a plastic tray. Scrunch up a piece of plastic wrap and dip it into the Shimmer Paint. *Tip: You may want to dab the paint off a bit onto the edge of the tray so that it's not too thick when you start applying it.
  2. Dab the paint randomly onto the focal image being sure to leave some white space. Dab carefully around the poinsettia flower to avoid smearing the Cherry Cobbler ink. Set aside to dry.
  3. LIGHTLY sponge the outside border of the focal image with Crumb Cake in (this brings out the "pearlized" effect.)
  4. Adhere focal image to Crumb Cake Cars Stock (3/14 x 4").
Faux Bow:
  1. Make a loop in the middle of the 6" piece of Soft Suede ribbon. Now thread the 2 1/2" smaller piece through the open loop and pull evenly. This creates the "faux bow". Place the bow to the left side of the focal image piece. Adhere to Soft Suede Card Stock (31/2 x 4 1/4").
  2. Adhere the focal image to the card front. Add one large pearl to the center of the poinsettia.
  3. Using a small piece of dimensional, adhere your pre-glittered snowflake to the top right of the focal image.
  4. Stamp the swirl design in Cherry Cobbler ink on the second Very Vanilla card stock (4 x 5 1/4"). Adhere to the inside of the card.
Please let me know if you have any questions I would love to help you make this gorgeous card :)
Happy Creating!!!
